Step 1: Entering Your Speaking Tasks

Step 2: Entering Your Events

Events are items that have a set date assigned to them.  These should be easy to locate because they already reside on your church calendar.  However just because it’s on your calendar does not mean it should be on your radar.  You only want to add those items that require work or planning outside of your regular routine.

Here’s a few examples:

  • Conferences or Training Seminars
  • Dinners or Special Celebrations
  • Special Ministry Activities like VBS or Youth Outings

Step 3: Entering Your Projects

Projects are items that can be completed anytime in the set time period.

Step 4: Entering Open Issues

Putting It Into Practice

  • Add tasks that list the number of messages you have to prepare each month.
  • Add tasks for each new series launch you’re planning.
  • Use the ‘Speaking’ type for these entries

Notes

  • The Speaking type is used for message preparation and work associated with launching a new series.
  • Use the ‘Speaking’ tasks to list the number messages you have to prepare and work surrounding the launch of a new series.
  • Use the ‘Undetermined’ type for tasks where you’re unsure where they should be  placed.  You can also put these tasks in the Holding column to schedule later.
